During the super-hot heat of the last 2 weeks I decided to visit my local beach. I’m impressed with the facilties; chairs, outdoor shower, shade “balloons” on beach, and trees that will someday give shade (the beach house was not open). The water was too warm for my liking 83 degrees, but then I did a search of other city lakes and they were all mostly that warm. It did cool off after leaving the bouyed swimming area. Once concern, no life ring at unattended lifeguard chair, don’t know if this is because they get stolen, however there are lots of unattended kids who don’t appear to know how to swim. I wanted to relax and read but kept watching the water for distressed swimmers. Also a lot of bird feathers on beach. Birds in water = e.coli and other yucky itchy stuff.
